frequently asked questions

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions about my services, specialties, and what you can expect while working together.

  • I specialize in providing a non clinical integrative somatic therapies including somatic trauma therapy, somatic IFS, somatic attachment therapy, and somatic cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

  • Somatic approaches are centered around going beyond and deeper than traditional talk therapy to work with the body (biology + physiology) into the therapeutic process.

Soma translates to the living body in it’s wholeness. A somatic approach is rooted in understanding the connection between our thoughts, words, sounds, muscle tone, tone of voice, facial expressions, emotions, sensations, gestures, and movement and working with them as an essential part of the therapeutic process.

Intentionally incorporating our somatic experience into our growth and healing process allows us to open to and work with the deeper insights and information about our struggles, stressors, values, emotions, desires, needs, challenges, symptoms, and relationships.

  • I work with individuals, couples, parents, and professional leaders who are motivated to engage in their own growth and make meaningful change in their lives.

    • Chronic pain and ongoing pain not alleviated or addressed by conventional treatments.

    • Stress-related symptoms: general aches, pain or fatigue, disrupted sleep patterns, physical conditions associated with emotional imbalances such as depression, relational challenges, or trauma.

  • I work with clients both in person and online.

    In-Person

In-person sessions offer dedicated space outside of your home without distractions. My office is located in the heart of downtown Asheville at 12 1/2 Wall Street.

    Online sessions

Many people enjoy or prefer online sessions from the comfort of their own space, to eliminate time commuting, or for those who simply live outside of Asheville, NC. Online sessions are held via ZOOM.

  • Research finds greater outcomes from therapy with a higher frequency of sessions during the first 90 days.

I highly recommend and encourage an initial package of 6 or 12 weekly sessions.

How long we work together will depend on what brings your goals and what you want to accomplish in our work together. Most clients experience tangible results of our work together within 3-12 months.

We will discuss this together in the first few sessions and work collaboratively to curate the desired and most effective level of support for you.

  • Sessions are typically 60-75 minutes.

    What are your rates?

    • $130-150 for individual sessions

    • $200-$250 for couples sessions.

      All sessions are 75 minutes.

    • Weekly sessions are available in packages of 6 or 12 sessions at a rate of $130 per session for individuals and $200 for couples. Packages can be paid in full or in monthly payments.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

Yes. I do offer sliding scale rates to a limited number of clients who otherwise might not be able to work together. If you are in need of a sliding scale rate please inquire during our consultation call.

I accept payments via cash, check, credit card, and debit card.

    Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network practitioner which means I do not have contracts with insurance companies.

  • Due to limited availability and the efficacy of the therapeutic process, clients are expected to commit to their sessions once they are scheduled.

Requests to cancel or reschedule a session within 48 hours of the scheduled session time and no shows (failure to communicate at all regarding your absence) will result in a charge for the full session fee.

I understand that life happens and Illness, accidents, and unexpected events can be unpredictable and sometimes 48 hours notice is impossible. Cancellation fees may be waived under infrequent and extenuating circumstances.

You will be provided with a full agreement of policies and procedures prior to your first session.
